Koggelmander Kos & Kunshuis

The Karoo is famous for its hospitality and unique cuisine.  You will find both at Koggelmander where all our staff are from here and we use local ingredients whenever we can.

Koggelmander Kos-en Kunshuis (Eatery and Art House) is on the main street of Prince Albert , the most beautiful of all Karoo towns with the majestic Swartberg Mountains on one side and the Great Karoo with its vast plains on the other. Prince Albert retains much of its historical charm with many historical buildings, water flowing into town from the mountain in furrows built in the 1800s and “town farms” on which some people still farm alongside the main road.

Pronounced much like it looks excepting that the “gg” sounds like the “ch” in “Loch”, Koggelmander is the Afrikaans name for a rock lizard endemic to the Karoo .

At Koggelmander we serve a unique blend of modern Karoo food and traditional Afrikaner cooking made from the best local ingredients.  By day we offer a a Café/Bistro menu ranging from breakfast, light meals, snacks and drinks to milkshakes, pancakes, tea and coffee. By night Koggelmander is transformed into an elegant but relaxed restaurant.  We also believe good food deserves good wine so we have an extensive wine-list to suit all tastes and pockets.

Open every evening for dinner and Tuesday - Sunday for Breakfast,
Lunch and In-Between.

All major credit cards are welcome.
